January 8, 2008 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Germantown Town Board Meeting January 8, 2008 Members present: Chairman Jax, Supervisors Rosetta Boyle, Steve Gillespie, Michael Jax and Dave Specht, Chairman Jax called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Pledge of Allegiance recited. Minutes of the December meetings were read. Motion to approve the minutes was made by Supervisor Boyle. Second Supervisor Michael Poe. Motion carried 5/0. Treasurer’s report was read. Supervisor Michael Poe reported that he has read the reconciliation report and makes a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report and reconciliation report. Second, Supervisor Specht. Motion carried 5/0. There are no operator licenses this month. Necedah Fire Dept. and EMS contract has been received. Supervisor Michael Poe reported that the changes requested have been added. Reports will be made on a monthly basis. Fire Inspections – Town will notify the Dept of changes and new businesses. Ambulances will be reported on a quarterly basis. Motion made by Supervisor Michael Poe to accept the contracts presented for the Necedah Fire Dept and Necedah EMS Services. Second, Chairman Jax. Motion carried 5/0 Committee Reports- Supervisor Boyle reported on problems with lighting on the new sign. Gray Electric has given 3 options. Motion was made by Supervisor Specht to approve option two at the cost of $510. Second, Supervisor Boyle. Motion carried 5/0. There is no Sheriff’s report available. Supervisor Specht reported on the Smart Growth Committee-final draft is on line. We have not been able to pull up the maps yet. Open House will be February 12, 2008 before the Monthly Board Meeting. Mr. Poe reported on the road/ ATV committee-Surveys are coming in and will need to be counted. Emergency Management- Chairman Jax has received a resignation for the position of Director of Emergency Management- Chairman Jax appointed Fred Cobbs as director and William Bruce as Deputy Director of Emergency Management. Motion made by Supervisor Boyle to approve the appointments. Second, Supervisor Specht. Motion carried 5/0. Temporary Town Worker-Billy Fritz is retired from the position. Motion made by Supervisor Specht to appoint someone to a NOT PERMENANT position at no more $12.50 per hour. Second Supervisor Boyle. Motion carried 5/0. Zoning Report- Zoning Administrator William Bruce reported on the permits received in 2007, For a total of $16,610.00 in fees collected. Administrator Bruce presented Resolutions 2007-9 and 2007-8.01 To amend the PUD for High Ridge and Specific Implementation Plan for High Ridge. Motion to approve the resolutions was made by Supervisor Specht and Second by Supervisor Michael Poe. Motion carried 5/0 Vouchers were read. Motion to approve the vouchers was made by Supervisor Boyle. Second, Supervisor Specht. Motion carried 5/0. Public comment- Mr. Bruce told the public that someone is interested in property on the corner of County G and State Hwy 58 for a Landscaping business.
